Fees and Membership

  1. First lesson free
  2. $70 for a block of 7 lessons (valid for 12 months)
  3. Full membership:
    • $30 annual subscription
    • $15 per class or $20 for both classes per night

Come along and try a class for free. (You'll need to fill in an application/indemnity form if you are coming on the mat.)

Then you will begin a course of 7 lessons, each concentrating on a different aikido principle. This is a reasonable amount of time for new members to get a basic understanding of the benefits of aikido and to get a sense of what our club is like.

At this point you’ll hopefully become a full member of the club by paying the annual $30 annual subscription. Full members are entitled to vote at the AGM. (During the first free lesson and the subsequent 7 lessons, students participate under a probationary membership. Beyond this, students pay the appropriate fees for full membership to continue training.)

Fees for all kyu-level (below black belt) gradings are included in the $30 annual subscription fee. We're a not-for-profit organisation and our instructors are volunteers who do not receive payment for their services.

Training fees go towards paying for the set-up and ongoing costs of running the school, including rental of the dojo and insurance.
